Several interesting sights that we visited on the Excursion to Iceland. Iceland - day 3 (officially announced in the program as a bit more boring, probably to dare the impressions of the previous 2 days and our brain does not overheat from the sights and emotions). The day passed mainly in jeeps staring at the rocky coast and the eastern fjords. At irregular intervals we stopped for some trampling, a photo or lunch. Some areas are privately owned and you pay to enter.
One of them was a windy beach with fine, fine black sand, in which it was a pleasure to roll (with clothes, it was quite witty). There were also black dunes with shaggy and swaying grass. And sheep. Puffy and cowardly. Very white, but there are also brown and black for a slight variety. I chased 3 on the road, but I didn't succeed - the cattle ran away quickly. Curiously, they move everywhere in Icelandic threes - a ram and 2 sheep. I want to know why. Twice a day we spotted an Indian couple in love doing a dramatic photo shoot - the young man lying on the ground, the lady in a summer dress in the middle of the shaving wind staring dreamily at a flower before jumping up and pulling on a long down.
I am attaching a paparazzi photo. I also include a photo of the soup for lunch, that the sights of the day were not as much as in the beginning. Lagarflood is a lake inhabited by something large and mythical with the appearance of a basilica from Harry Potter (local Nessie). We saw the lake, but the monster did not appear. We stopped at one of the fishing villages at the bottom of 17 km. fjord. It was the most picturesque on the east coast, but apart from 3-4 colorful wooden houses, a church and a path with the colors of the rainbow, there was nothing remarkable. Studlagil Canyon was the end of the day. Very nice, colorful and photogenic. Tomorrow - a long day and whaling. Skogafoss - another waterfall. Rectangular, full of water and remarkable. With a 65-meter ladder for luxury. From the top there is a 23-kilometer trek past Ejafjallajokull, which I really liked, but it was 8:30 in the evening, and the last part of the program.

Studlagil Canyon was the end of the day. Very nice, colorful and photogenic. Tomorrow - a long day and whaling. With cameras, of course. Wish me luck. Interesting fact: the sheep in the country are 2 times more than the people. There are traditional delicacies based on this fact - testicles marinated in milk brine, flattened like oreo cookies or a sheep's head cut in half, semi-raw and marinated, served with the eyes.
So far, thank God, it has not been on our menu so as not to take someone from the group to order. And in the lobby of the hotel there was a toy - a rocking sheep. Iceland - day 2: advanced language exercise Wow, wow, there is no such miracle, such blue icebergs and such glaciers and such mosses and such black landscapes, and now I travel to the hotel with an ankle-wet left foot and write with my fingers like ice pendants. After a much richer breakfast, we went around various things, many of them black, all wet, and at the end - blue and white and ice crystal: The black beach of Reynisfjara with the sun-petrified trolls of Reynisrangar. I climbed the wonderful stepped rocks, breathed and sniffed (air, de), watched, took pictures, collected 1 pocket of pebbles and continued through green plains, gray rock massifs, volcanic deposits and near glaciers to ... the largest field of Eldhraun lava, formed by a volcanic eruption that caused terrible damage. It shook a lot of people, cattle and produced dust for half of Europe. It is now covered with a wonderful gray-yellow greenish moss. 560 square kilometers, nothing work.
- Fjadrargljufur Canyon. 1 km of leisurely walk along the mouth of the river and jumping over some fences in order not to have ropes in the photos. - passing through the village with the cult name, whoever remembers it, receives praise and an autographed photo Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
Gullfoss - The Golden Falls - was the first serious wow that day. Majestic and noisy, sparkling and dramatic. And with a small rainbow for splendor.
