We will show you the most beautiful panoramic photos of Dolomites in Italy to get an idea of how beautiful this part of Europe is. First, some useful information about how the Dolomites formed. These are rock formations that rose in the Late Cretaceous and over millions of years, thanks to wind, rain, snow and sun, can be seen in their present form.
They are located in the Eastern Alps and in particular in northeastern Italy. They cover the regions of South Tyrol, Trento, Bolzano and Belluno. The length of the Dolomites is about 150 km and is limited by the Isarco, Piave, Brenta, Adige and Pusteria rivers. The highest peak is Marmolada 3342 meters above sea level. We begin our virtual walk with Passo Falzarego.
Very nice place where you can go by lift and see the mountain pass from a great height. Tofana di Dentro are three large peaks of almost the same height that can be shot simultaneously with a good camera.
The entire mountain range is located near Cortina d'Ampezzo. Cinque Torri is a mid-high peak located southwest of Cortina d'Ampezzo. During the summer months, tourists take a stroll around this peak and sleep in the Rifugio Scoiattoli hut.
By the way, the chalets in this area of the Dolomites are extremely attractive in terms of their location. For example, Auronzo Hut, which is 2333 meters high. It can be reached on foot on mountain paths or by car on a beautiful panoramic road. Unfortunately the time we were there was not sunny and the pictures were of poor quality.
La Gusela peak is the last place on our walk in this beautiful mountain. There are several lodging options around this peak, and there is even a highway to some of them. The most interesting part of our walk is the lakes in the Dolomites. We start with Lake Bryes, the most beautiful in the South Tyrol region. It is 38 meters deep and the water is crystal clear.
You can ride a boat in the summer and skate in the winter. Lake Anterno, a small lake that you can walk around in about an hour. There is a chalet and a restaurant nearby to eat and look at Cristallo Peak. Lake Corrèze is located just a few kilometers from the town of Bolzano. The interesting thing here is that the lake has no natural sources and is only supported by the rainfall. Landro Lake is the starting point for Laverado's world-famous peaks.
Nearby in the west are some of the most beautiful lakes in Italy and we were able to visit Lake Como the most beautiful in Italy.
There are many more places worth visiting, such as the Seiser Alm ski area, the small towns of Tolpei, San-Cipriano, San Giovanni in Ranui, Val di Funes Valley and more. If you rent a car and have at least two weeks free, you can see the whole charm of the Dolomites in Italy.
